On March 1, 2008, the California-Southwest Region of Church World Service presented its tenth annual Tools & Blankets Banner awards for outstanding support of the Church World Service Tools & Blankets Program in 2007.

Special display banners with the “Rainbow of Caring” logo and the year of the award were presented to twenty churches. To insure that all churches, whatever their size, had an equal chance to qualify for a banner, ten banners were awarded on the basis of highest total giving and ten on the basis of highest total giving per member. The following churches were awarded banners:

Church World Service uses CWS Kits to assist refugees, displaced people, and victims of natural disasters throughout the US and the world. Forty churches within the Presbytery of the Pacific (Southern California & Hawaii) responded to the tsunami in South Asia by assembling more than 2,500 Health Kits! Every CWS Kit collection, big and small, is greatly appreciated as the need for these Kits continues.
