"Build a Better World!" Children's Curriculum

Build a Better World: AfricaHave you met "Imani"? Imani is the very tall, big-hearted giraffe whose name means "hope" in Swahili. He takes children on journeys to Angola, Somalia, Rwanda, and Kenya to learn about the lives and challenges children there experience every day. The "Build a Better World: Africa" Children's Curriculum helps students learn they are connected with the lives of children near and far -- and how they can make a difference by helping others build better lives.

In this curriculum you will find ...
  • Four hope-filled stories about children assisted through the work of CWS
  • Related Bible studies
  • A large poster to display in your learning area
  • Learning activities and craft ideas
  • Ways to "Build a Better World!" through gifts of money and Kits.
squirrelThrough becoming involved in the CWS projects suggested in the curriculum, children are encouraged to share God's love by helping to empower people in need to make better lives for themselves and their neighbors! Please order copies of "Build a Better World: Africa" today. Or phone in your order by calling toll-free 888-297-2767.

Here's what the First Presbyterian Church in Bay Minette, Alabama, wrote about using "Build a Better World!"

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

The week of June 25 - 29, 2001, our church held Vacation Bible School using your VBS curriculum, "Build A Better World!" It was excellent! I can truthfully say that it was one of the best Vacation Bible Schools that our church has held in the last 10 years. I can say this because I have been the director of VBS for the last 10 years.

Our children learned that there is a whole different world outside our nice little community of Bay Minette, AL, and there are many boys and girls as well as adults that need our help. Indeed, they responded to this need as evidenced by the 50 Health Kits being shipped to you for distribution to Honduras, as well as the enclosed check for $500. Fifty dollars of this $500 will help cover the shipping costs of the health care kits. The remaining $450 we ask to be shared with our brothers and sisters in Ghana and Cambodia, please.

Your curriculum was excellent, and we look forward to future curriculum that your organization might publish.

God Bless You,

Karen G. Helms
VBS Director
