Stien Djali (on right), CWS Liaison Advisor for CWS, Indonesia visited NJ as a PCUSA guest. Rev. Mercy Rumengan, (center) CWS-NJ State Advisory Brd Member invited members of the Elizabeth Presbytery Multicultural Comm. and CWS staff for a luncheon to hear updates on the work of CWS in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, where Stien is primarily working as a trauma counselor. Stien shared that rebuilding is progressing slowly, and while the spirit is great, there is still tremendous grief that survivors are struggling through. She shared stories about the great joy with which children receive the CWS School Kits, filled with items that many have never seen before. "Their eyes become big, they [are] excited for such great treasures!"
