Aliya and Harper, our granddaughters in Virginia, were talking about children in Africa during our recent visit, so we decided to combine their back-to-school shopping with school shopping for the children in Africa. We talked about the children who would receive the school kits as they decided the important things - like what color construction paper should be included and what color handprints they wanted to put on the bags.
It was gratifying to find the girls already so aware of the needs of others.
