If you have an opportunity to promote CWS Kits in your congregation, please do so! Inventory of CWS School Kits and Baby Kits at the Brethren Service Center is extremely low and CWS is unable to fill pending international and domestic requests because of this lack of adequate inventory. Please help us fill requests by providing these much needed Kits. Looking for a good Mission Project for your summer VBS program, the CWS School Kit makes a tangible connection with the children and their global “classmates” in need of these basic items for education.

Listed below are the 2008 Depot dates and locations. Please see the CWS website for Kit contents or call the Pennsylvania Regional Office. Kits may only be dropped at the below listed churches within the dates provided. Please be sure to drop off only CWS approved kits at these depots.

CWS Emergency Clean-up Buckets urgently needed

"After an active early winter (Southern tornadoes, Midwest floods), we have only 48 CWS Emergency Clean-up Buckets on hand at our New Windsor warehouse. What makes this even more dire is timing: After record snowfalls across the upper Midwest and northeast, March thawing will likely cause flooding soon," reports Bonnie Vollmering, Associate Director for Domestic Response of the CWS Emergency Response Program. "We ask you to spread the word of this need throughout your denominational and other contacts."

We need all of the completed Kits we can gather. Please see the CWS website for Kit contents or call the Pennsylvania Regional Office.

Brethren Disaster Relief Focus on Kits

Roy Winter of the Church of the Brethren reported:
“When Hurricane Katrina hit, the auction committee decided to have an auction to help assemble CWS Health Kits. Then as Rita approached they decided to make even more,” he wrote. “So, they purchased supplies for 25,000 kits. With over 200 volunteer involved, the kits were assembled boxed and put on trucks ready to head to New Windsor in about two-and-a-half hours. It was really amazing to see.”
